We are looking for bloggers who’d like to give back to our little blogging community by helping keep us organized. As our group grows, we need more cogs in the machine working together. None of these positions are designed to monopolize your time; however, they will require a few hours a month to do them well. If the positions below are not filled, then the services and website functionality associated with them will likely go away.

At this time, we have no model in place for generating revenue for SGFblogs.com (except for occasional ads and cover from the Blogaronis which help cover the cost of our domain name, hosting, and Blogaroni expenses). We can’t reimburse our leaders for their time or efforts monetarily, but we can thank them by offering them Featured Blogger status on our blogroll, inclusion on our Featured Blogger list on Twitter, a community service line on their resume, and a recommendation on LinkedIn.

Head Honcho (Sarah Jo Austin)

• Trains and coaches leadership in their positions
• Ensures that leadership are doing their jobs and working together
• Works with Membership Recruiter to fill leadership positions
• Purchases domain name annually
• Arranges hosting for SGFblogs.com
• Maintains password list

Meetup Coordinator (Nigel Holderby)

• Schedules monthly meetups
• Posts meetup announcements and recaps to SGFblogs.com
• Works with Twitter Manager, Facebook Manager, and Promotions Coordinator to promote meetups
• Chooses monthly discussion topic

Web Administrator (Matthew Stubblefield)

• Updates WordPress, plugins, and themes for SGFblogs.com
• Keeps the website in good working order
• Oversees website users and permissions
• Moderates comments
• Works with Take It & Blog Producer, Blogroll Producer, and RSS Producer

Take It & Blog Producer (Linden Mueller)

• Publishes Take It & Blog writing prompts on website once a week
• Encourages bloggers to participate
• Promotes (on website, Twitter, Facebook) participating blog posts that are submitted

Blogroll Producer

• Adds new bloggers to SGFblogs.com blogroll
• Removes old or non-participating bloggers from blogroll
• Works with Membership Coordinator to keep the blogroll up-to-date
• Works with Promotions Coordinator to maintain the Featured Blogger category

Membership Coordinator

• Maintains current membership list
• Periodically checks that members are participating according to our participation guidelines
• Works with Blogroll Producer and RSS Producer to keep blogroll and aggregated RSS feed up-to-date

Membership Recruiter

• Seeks out and invites local bloggers to join our ranks using Twitter, Facebook, email, and blog comments
• Works with Head Honcho to fill vacant leadership positions

RSS Producer (Matthew Stubblefield)

• Maintains SGFblogs.com Post and Comments RSS feeds using Feedburner
• Adds/removes bloggers from our aggregated RSS feed
• Works with Blogroll Producer, Membership Coordinator, and Web Administrator

Promotions Coordinator

• Manages sponsorships (ads) placed on SGFblogs.com
• (As needed) Designs sponsorship ads
• Promotes the Springfield Bloggers Association in the community
• (At some point?) Manages ads we place
• Works with Meetup Coordinator, Membership Recruiter, and Web Administrator

Blogaronis Coordinator

• Organizes annual nominating and voting for Blogaronis
• Plans annual Blogaroni ceremony
• Works with Membership Coordinator, Meetup Coordinator, and Promotions Coordinator

Twitter Manager

• Makes updates to SGFblogs account
• Engages in conversation with others on Twitter
• Manages lists and followers
• Manages team of users (i.e. other leaders) using HootSuite
• Works with Promotions Manager to maintain our Featured-Blogger list

Facebook Manager

• Maintains SGFblogs page
• Adds posts, media, events, page favorites, etc.
• Manages page admins (i.e. other leaders)

Media Manager/Creator

• Collects and/or shoots pictures and video from our events to use on the website, Twitter, Facebook

Email Coordinator

• Helps Head Honcho maintain a database of information from our bloggers
• Sends monthly meetup emails
• Sends updated database listings to I’m a Blogger Producer, Blogroll Producer, and Membership Coordinator

Number Cruncher

• Collects vital stats monthly from our website, membership list, Twitter account, Facebook page, meetups, et al.
• Looks for trends in our numbers
• Reports back to Head Honcho and other leaders monthly with growth/loss statistics
